Dental Care for Every Stage of Life
Every age brings different dental needs. As your family dentist, we care for all of them and get to know your family’s history along the way.
Babies and toddlers. A first visit by the first birthday checks early tooth development and gives parents tips on brushing, teething, and healthy habits.
Children. Cleanings, fluoride, and sealants protect growing teeth. We also check how the teeth and jaw are developing.
Teens. We watch for alignment problems, discuss orthodontic options like Invisalign®, and help teens stay on top of their oral health as they gain independence.
Adults. Regular preventive care, gum health, and restorative and cosmetic treatment when needed keep your smile healthy through busy years.
Seniors. We help older adults maintain their natural teeth and care for crowns, bridges, implants, and dentures.

How Often Should Your Family See the Dentist?
Children
Your child’s first dental visit should happen by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth. After that, most children should come in every six months. The first permanent molars usually arrive around ages 6 to 8 and are especially prone to cavities, so checkups at this age matter. Around age 7 is also a good time for an orthodontic evaluation, since some jaw and bite problems are easier to correct early. Here are five reasons to take your child to the dentist.
Adults
Most adults do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months. The ADA recommends that your dentist set your schedule based on your oral health, so some patients need visits more often. For example, patients with gum disease often need cleanings every three months.
When More Frequent Visits Help
Some health conditions and life stages call for closer care:
- Pregnancy. Hormonal changes can inflame the gums, so see us early in your pregnancy. Dental care is safe while you’re pregnant.
- Diabetes and heart disease. Both are linked to a higher risk of gum disease.
- Smoking. Tobacco raises the risk of gum disease and oral cancer, and it stains teeth.
- Cancer treatment. Chemotherapy and radiation can affect the teeth and gums. Let us know if you’re going through treatment, so we can help protect your mouth.
Convenient Care for Busy Families
Between work, school, and activities, finding time for the dentist isn’t easy. We can schedule several family members at the same time, so you can take care of everyone in one trip. We open at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, so it’s easier to fit visits in before school or work. To save time at check-in, complete our patient forms before your visit.
Modern Technology and Evidence-Based Care
We use proven technology that makes treatment more accurate and more comfortable:
- DIAGNOdent® laser cavity detection finds early decay that can be hard to see, often before it needs a large filling.
- Digital x-rays give clear, detailed images with less radiation than traditional film.
- iLase™ dental laser allows gentle treatment of the gums and other soft tissue.
- Isolite™ keeps the mouth comfortably open and dry during treatment, so procedures are faster and easier.
- Oral cancer screenings are part of every routine exam.
- Metal-free dentistry uses natural-looking, tooth-colored materials.
We follow evidence-based dentistry, which means we combine the best available research with clinical experience and your personal preferences to recommend treatment. Not sure about a treatment another dentist has recommended? We offer free second opinions. Here’s why a second opinion is always a safe choice.

Gum Care for the Whole Family
Healthy gums are the foundation of healthy teeth. We check for gum disease at every visit. When it’s present, we can treat it in our office with scaling and root planing, a deep cleaning that removes plaque and tartar from below the gum line. Regular maintenance visits then help keep gum disease under control.
Comfortable Care for Anxious Patients
Dental anxiety is common in both kids and adults, whether it comes from a past bad experience, fear of pain, or the sounds of a dental office. We do everything we can to make visits calm and comfortable:
- A relaxing office with large windows, plenty of natural light, soothing music, and comfortable leather chairs
- Clear communication. We explain each step before we start and answer every question.
- Your pace. We check in often, take breaks when you need them, and never rush.
- Personal comfort options. Bring headphones for music or a podcast, or schedule at the time of day you feel most relaxed.
- Sedation options for patients who need extra help relaxing
Tell us what worries you, and we’ll build a plan around your comfort. Learn how dentists help ease anxiety.
Morrisville Family Dentist FAQs
What is family dentistry?
Family dentistry is general dentistry for all ages. A family dentist is trained to care for both baby teeth and permanent teeth, and provides cleanings, fillings, fluoride, sealants, gum care, and orthodontic guidance for everyone in your household.
Can you see my whole family at the same appointment time?
Yes. We can schedule multiple family members together, so you can handle everyone’s checkups in one trip.
How long does a first visit take?
Plan on about 45 minutes to an hour. That gives us time to review your history, take x-rays if needed, complete an exam, and usually do a cleaning. If we find something that needs treatment first, such as a cavity or inflamed gums, we may schedule the cleaning for a separate visit.
What should I bring to our first visit?
Bring your insurance card, a list of medications for each family member, and any questions or concerns. Completing our patient forms ahead of time speeds up check-in.
Are sealants worth it for my child?
Yes, for most kids. Sealants are thin protective coatings painted onto the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where cavities most often start. According to the CDC, sealants reduce cavities in permanent molars by 80% for two years after they’re placed, and they continue to protect for years after that. We’ll check them at every visit.
What’s the best way to prevent cavities at home?
Everyone in the family should brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste that has the ADA Seal of Acceptance and clean between their teeth once a day. Limit sugary snacks and drinks, especially between meals, and drink plenty of water. Read how your child’s diet affects their teeth.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We’re a preferred provider for Delta Dental, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna, and we accept many other plans. We file claims for you at no charge. See our insurance information.
